In celebration of the American Humane Association’s Adopt-A-Dog Month, and Halloween, this post is dedicated to all of our fur-loving followers!
Fall is hands down, my favorite season. I love the warm, rich colors of fall, feeling the crisp air hit your face, wrapping yourself up in layers of plaid and wool, and of course, the food. I am in no way, shape or form, a foodie, but I do enjoy eating (almost anything), and so does our Australian Cattle dog, Indy.
For many of us, our pets are our children; myself included… so, it’s important that we give our pets a happy place for them to call home. From home décor to toys and special treats welcoming a new pet is a delightful, giving experience.
My husband and I do our best to feed our fur-baby healthy snacks, (minus the occasional scoop of vanilla bean ice cream) so when I saw this 3-ingredient recipe for peanut putter and pumpkin dog treats, I had to try it! I hope that your pooch enjoys them as much as mine has!
3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Pumpkin Homemade Dog Treats
1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter
1 cup 100% Pure Pumpkin Puree, canned
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour (I used Whole Grain Brown Rice Flour)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, stir together peanut butter and pumpkin. Stir in the flour 1/4 cup at a time just until dough is no longer sticky.
3. Roll the dough out between two sheets of parchment paper to 1/4″ thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the dough, then place on the prepared pan.
4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes. Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container or freeze for up to 3 months.
