Met Gala Fashion 2017

The famous annual opening of the fashion exhibit at the Met always brings the latest in trend and color to the red carpet runway. This year’s tribute to Comme des Garçon founder and designer Rei Kawakubo “The Art of the In-Between” was no exception.

Tropical Motifs/ Temperate Color: Emerging color combinations of gold with coral juxtaposed with iconic hot house tropical in this homage to eclecticism at its finest.

Water Color: Blue surges in waves through both fashion and interiors. Welcome to a water world where misty blues are defined as new neutrals.

Sweet Dreams: Pattern “Lamu” in fresh and vibrant coral.

Cofounders Serena Dugan and Lily Kanter created their now famous brand in 2004, moving from wholesalers of crib bedding to celebrity interiors gurus in a veritable heartbeat.

Custom clients such as Jen Garner and Princess Haya of Dubai earned the team a two page spread in People Magazine, and then things began to get really interesting…

“A house of color, pattern and style…” In 2008 the partners took their rapidly growing business from infants only to an expanded lifestyle format bringing their signature style to every room of the home.

Canvass the neighborhood for great style: Canvas “Wide Stripe” pattern in fashionable plum and shell shades plus pattern “Feather” in a denim chevron.

What’s their next move? ‘From “clicks to bricks”  as customers diversify their buying experience and blend online and storefront purchasing. The dynamic duo of Serena and Lily has begun a roll out of storefronts beginning with their “Beach Market” store in the Hamptons of New York this summer.

“A house of color, pattern and style” Living Neutral: “Lamu” pattern in bisque. Foulard pattern “Peridot” in sassy saffron plus a cascade of spirited designs and signature colors.
